previous vehicles from the anderson historic collection
This page is dedicated to some of the vehicles that have been part of the Anderson Historic Collection and have now moved on to new owners. The collection changes direction through the passage of time and as our tastes change so do the vehicles in it.
1964 rolls royce silver cloud 3 |
The last of the great Rolls Royce cars. A truly wonderful drive in luxury. A smaller interior than the size of the car suggests but roomy enough. This Silver Cloud was part of the collection for over a decade and superb for jaunts to country hotels and events. As a vehicle their values swing wildly depending on condition and provenance. This particular example was in very good all round condition. Sold to a Rolls Royce dealer in Wales.

Austin A40 Sports |
The Austin A40 sport 1200cc was an aluminium bodied 4 seat convertible styled by Eric Neale of Jensen Motors. The initial cars were built by Jensen. It was often referred to as the baby interceptor due to the almost identical body shape of the early Jensen Interceptor pre Jensen C-V8. The sport element was in the twin SU Carburettors. This car was in excellent all round condition and it was bought be an English Car collector based in Paris.

JENSEN C-V8 MK II 1964
This car was in our ownership for over a decade. The Jensen C-V8 is a four-seater GT car produced by Jensen Motors between 1962 and 1966. Launched in October 1962, the C-V8 series had fibreglass bodywork (only the door skins were aluminium). All C-V8s used big-block engines sourced from Chrysler; first the 361 and then, from 1964, the 330 bhp (246 kW) 383 in³. Most of the cars had three-speed Chrysler Torqueflite automatic transmission.
|
The car was one of the fastest production four-seaters of its era. The Mk II, capable of 136 mph (219 km/h), ran a quarter mile (~400 m) in 14.6 seconds, and accelerated from 0–60 mph (97 km/h) in 6.7 seconds;
The upgraded Mk II, introduced in October 1963, had Selectaride rear dampers and minor styling changes. Changes on the Mk III, the final version of the series which was introduced in June 1965, included a reduction in overall length, deeper windscreen, headlights all of the same size, improved interior ventilation, wood-veneer dashboard, the addition of overriders to the bumpers, and a dual-circuit braking system. |
Riley Elf MKII 1966 |
Our Riley Elf was sold in excellent all round condition. The mechanicals all worked as they should with a smooth transmission and strong engine. The car was supplied with an MOT for peace of mind. The Elf has the amazing number plate 848 Elf and the original registration was held on a retention certificate if the new owner would like to swap the original number back. The paintwork and chrome were in good order and the interior was in excellent condition being completely re-trimmed with a Newton Commercials leather trim.
Over the car's life it had been well looked after and it came with a photographic record of its restoration. There were bills for work done on file that amount to over £30,000. The car had a huge history file in several box files and folders. |
1965 Wolseley Hornet MKII Shorty |
The Restoration of this great car was carried out by the world renowned Mini expert Bill Richards at Bill Richard's Racing in Ashford in Kent and the interior trim was by Bryan Purvess also a Mini expert and author on the subject. The came with a huge history file with all receipts, photographs, a Heritage Certificate and the original Workshop manual as well as the Driver's Handbook. As you can imagine, there are many bespoke items on this car including the 'Shorty' badge and the rear boot rack. Amazingly, the boot is big enough to take a full shopping trolley of groceries. This car is only 263cm long, 134cm wide and 125cm high. |
1965 Leyland 15 Pick UP |
A magazine featured unique piece of motoring heritage. Not to be confused with the Standard Atlas, the Leyland 15 was produced in much smaller numbers and was only in production for 2 years. It is powered by the original Standard 1,698cc engine that makes it quite a spritely drive. This Leyland was given a full repaint by a specialist Aircraft Paint facility to an exceptionally high standard in resplendent Oxford Blue. |

1979 DEVON TYPE 2 BAY CAMPER
A very solid bus that was originally bought as a rolling restoration. Over time, much work had been completed by a renowned UK VW restoration specialist. The bus was professionally resprayed back to its original colours of Marino Yellow over Pastel White.
1944 Fordson E83W VAn
Rover 100 (p4) |
MFO 325 is a glorious matching numbers 1961 Rover 100. This car was a real gem. Used only as a daily runner during the summer months and as such it was mechanically in really good and reliable order. It started on the button, the gear changes were smooth, the handbrake was firm and uncomplicated, the brakes worked very well. The electrics all functioned as they should. Only the original HMV radio needed attention. |
Mazda MX-5 Widebody |
Our beautiful MX-5 MK1 had been in our collection for just over 3 years. Our ambition for the car was to create a unique MX-5 custom whilst retaining the standard MX-5 engine and gearbox to keep within insurance limits for a first car. It's the 1.8L engine and delivers 130HP as factory standard.
