Hesketh V1000 - 1982 - SOLD

Picture
This original Hesketh V1000 was a stunning motorcycle with only 3600 miles on the clock and quite a rare sight.

The Hesketh V1000 is a 992 cc (60.5 cu in) OHC V-twin motorcycle with 4 valves per cylinder. Designed and built by Hesketh Motorcycles in Daventry, Northamptonshire.

First registered on the 13th May 1982, this Hesketh V1000 had only had 4 owners from new. 992cc (v1000). The Previous Owner of this Hesketh was a motorcycle museum on the Isle of Man. The Hesketh has UK historic road tax status as this motorcycle is road tax exempt under historic class and MOT exempt.

Only 149 V1000 motorcycles were produced before the company was wound up in August 1982 so this makes the Hesketh you see here one of the very last to leave the production line with only 2 more after it.

The Chassis/Vin number is 247 and the engine number is 167.

When it came into our ownership you could see it had not been used for a long time but it was in great condition all round. The Hesketh was recommissioned it to get it up and running and back to show standard.

Work included :

Brake Master Cylinder seals
Clutch piston 'O' rings
Brake caliper pistons and seals, pads
Various carburettor parts.
Set of carburettors, clutch & brakes
Oil and fluids change
Filters
New battery.
Deep clean (2 days work)

This Hesketh runs very well indeed and starts on the button.

The motorcycle runs without any issues. It handled very smoothly and was very stable on the road. The engine pulled very well. There was a good history file with the Hesketh that included factory documentation and other Hesketh related documents as well as many receipts for work completed throughout its life and spare keys.
